Science for All!
The 65th International Fair of Technology and Technical Achievements was held in the Belgrade Fair, where the Institute for Artificial Intelligence of Serbia showed the results of its work among 500 local and foreign exhibitors. The event was officially launched by Dr. Jelena Begovic, Minister of Science, Technological Development, and Innovation, who stated that technology is here to serve, facilitate, and improve our lives.
The Republic of Serbia exhibition “Play for Humanity! “Science for All”was made up of several thematic units:
- Artificial intelligence;
- Science and technology parks;
- Agriculture; Biotechnology;
- Urban systems;
- Historical heritage;
- Space.
Numerous scientific research organizations, as well as recognized specialists from various institutes, faculties, innovation centers, and science and technology parks, were present at the show, while commercial enterprises also presented their latest innovations and work results.
IVI showcased a series of developments from the domain of AI within the subject unit Artificial Intelligence in order to bring visitors the most recent items that rely on artificial intelligence. Visitors were able to witness a mobile robot with an industrial nose and a robotic arm built in collaboration with the Mechatronics Department of the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad.
Modern computer vision techniques were applied in real time to the video arriving from the camera, so emotion identification drew the most attention from the audience, and the application of AI in the computer design of proteins was also demonstrated.
The Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation, the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications, and the Ministry of Education gathered the research and private sectors at this year’s fair under the slogan “Restart,” with the goal of confirming the fourth industrial revolution, Industry 4.0, and opening the door to creating a more harmonious relationship between people and machine, Industry 5.0.
The International Fair of Technology and Technical Achievements is a traditional meeting place for science and business, and in addition to providing the opportunity to present the latest technical-technological trends, the fair has a significant impact on the future development of industry in the country and region, as it initiates the search for new innovative solutions and provides insight into current technological processes.
