The second annual panel discussion “The State of Artificial Intelligence in Serbia”

Globally, artificial intelligence is quickly evolving. Lately, technologies such as ChatGPT and text-to-image tools such as NightCafe AI and Stable Diffusion have gotten a lot of attention.

Artificial intelligence is not confined to those two fields; it is also used in health and agriculture. Specifically, the advancement of artificial intelligence represents the future of many industries, therefore it is not surprising that there is increasing discussion and activity on developing this technology in our region.

What is Serbia’s performance in the creation of artificial intelligence, and what sort of results can we expect in the near future, as well as if we are on the right track or whether it will require a lot of effort and energy to compete with the main players in the VI world? which were discussed during the second annual panel discussion “The State of Artificial Intelligence in Serbia”.

The panelists were as follows:

  • Dragan Pleskonjic, founder of the “Glog.ai”;
  • Ana Poledica, professor at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences;
  • Dubravko Culibrk, acting director of IVI and professor at the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad;
  • Stefan Badza, Advisor in the Cabinet of the President of the Government of Serbia.

According to the speakers, Serbia is investing in infrastructure, hardware, and software, and that numerous research groups, institutions, and businesses will be able to take advantage of these resources.
